AN INDUSTRIAL SHAKER KITCHEN

with character

PROJECT: Shaker Kitchen | LOCATION: Farnham | YEAR: 2018

The brief for this kitchen was to create an industrial feel kitchen that was functional yet cosy and liveable. Part of a large extension and internal refurbishment in a beautiful 1930’s house, we worked closely with our clients to deliver on the design brief. A key part of the brief was to incorporate a combined cooktop extractor in the island - one of the first of these increasingly popular appliances that we have included in a design to date.

We created a kitchen-diner that combines light units with a dark, suede-finish granite worktop, and slate floor tiles that give a really contemporary feel. The in-frame, Classic Shaker units in both the kitchen and the utility room were hand-painted in Little Greene Fescue. The stainless steel Belfast sink and hefty cup handles and knobs imported from the US, gave just the industrial feel that the client was after. The Bosch induction hob and built-in extractor ensured a clutter-free space above the island, all contributing to a clean, yet characterful look.
