PROJECT: Cosy Cottage Kitchen | LOCATION: Farnham | YEAR: 2018

We undertook this project in 2018, with clients who were looking to extend and open up the rear of their lovely, tucked away cottage. The scope included the kitchen and dresser-type cabinets for the adjacent dining room.

It’s a Classic Shaker-style design, with a contemporary twist, centred on the 1100mm Rangemaster range cooker, with two small, but highly effective windows either side. These reduce the space for wall units, but help to flood the space with light and also serve to frame the freestanding extractor.

The island is small, but well-proportioned and provides handy drawer and cupboard storage, a set of integrated bins and a breakfast bar for two stools. Finally, there are the two dresser-type cabinets in the dining room - these have glazed top cupboards, to display glassware and other items.

It’s a simple, elegant and cosy kitchen, full of light, which makes great use of the space and provides a wonderful setting for everything from relaxed Sunday brunches to Friday night dinner parties.
