PROJECT: Camberley Kitchen | LOCATION: Camberley | YEAR: 2021

Our clients came to us with a very clear brief for a contemporary Shaker kitchen in their newly renovated Arts and Crafts house in Camberley. They were after a space to accommodate the needs of a family of six with a very generous island at the centre of it. The adjacent walk-in pantry, dining room and utility room meant that food storage and a dining table weren’t priorities, allowing the large island to take centre-stage.

The deep-black, Classic Shaker units were paired with a straight cornice as opposed to the classic curved Shaker cornice in order to modernise the style of the kitchen and were hand-painted after fitting. They contrast beautifully with the warmer tones of the brass handles and hinges. A white Corian worktop and integrated sink with a beautifully textured tiled backsplash behind the sink run finish off the main elements.

Built-in appliances include a flush-fitted Elica NikolaTesla Switch extractor/hob on the island, an oven tower fitted with a Samsung integrated microwave oven, oven and warming drawer and a large Sub-Zero fridge/freezer to provide plentiful chilled and frozen storage.

One of our favourite parts to this kitchen has to be the large, solid oak open wall shelves above the sink run - the oak really ties in with the earthy, warm tones of the brass fixtures and oak cabinetry interiors. Finally, the integrated cabinetry lighting brings further warmth and depth to this kitchen: this, together with a profusion of house plants has resulted in a magical combination that really marks this kitchen out as something special.

“I thoroughly recommend the team at Chisholm Design. They have been meticulous, organised, honest, focused - tolerant of my demands and entirely solution focused with quality at the heart of everything. We LOVE our new kitchen and so happy to see it all come together. All of their advice and inputs have been hugely valuable and we are eternally grateful, thank you so much!!!”
